I wasn't sure, I liked the straight-on door (as anyone could tell from my gallery ;) ) but I started to get a little more creative and playing with DoF and the like. With some cropping and level adjusting, I think it came out. But I think you are right, I got too tied into straight-on shots, with portraits of objects if you will. Time to get a little more interesting, yah?

Much more interesting from the angle. A little more leading to the viewer, giving them a reason for looking other than the door itself. Something of an 'examine here' arrow on the door/wood and lock.

Kinda what I was going for, getting away from my "portraits" of windows and doors, they can get kinda dull.

I love this! It's very interesting! The textures on the wood, brick and snow really capture one's attention and work very well together!
