Bowl

Huge stone bowl and pool, suggested to be either sacrificial objects or possibly reflecting pools to look at the stars... Shot in infrared from the top of the main pyramid, looking towards the spiral pyramid with the flank of Popocatepetl volcano to the left.

In the Xochitécatl (sho-shee-tay-cattle) site, very old center believed to have been established around 750 BC and abandoned around 100 BC. Predates Aztec and Maya by around 2000 years, to give you a little idea. Not sure who lived there, but it may have been a precurser to the Olmecs. Perched on top of a small extinct volcano, about 9,000 feet above sea level.
