What I've Been Up To

Thu Oct 6, 2005, 7:45 AM
Well, still busy as all hell, but trying to find some time to be here more often. I am trying to start a stock account at lopix-stock.deviantart.com though I have yet to upload any images. Big thanx to FallenRox for all of her help with this.

I have also developed a bit of an addiction to www.live3dpoker.com and have been helping them with some online marketing. It is run by a friend of mine (who you will see here on DA very soon) so check it out if you get a chance.

I am currently in a UE-themed photo exhibit at the Charlotte Room in Toronto, very cool, my first gallery! I am also about to start a photo group with another UE person which we are going to use as a medium to get more of our art hung in more Toronto galleries. Wish us luck!

Still have websites to work on, have a client I haven't even had the time to start with. Finished some person sites, but still have a major revamp planned for photo.lopix.com once I figure out what I want to do as well as find the time.

Also been doing some shooting for [murmur] and hopefully will start to get into a related website/print magazine called Spacing.

No idea what is going on with the NYC mag, partly my fault. Really need to get cracking and finish writing the UE article for them. Have all the pix ready, just need to finish the words. Fashion shoot got postponed indefinitely, but I think my Cadillac shots will be printed.

Doesn't seem like I will do any more other than the first 2 features for the architecture series I am doing for a community newspaper group in Toronto. They never have time to print them, even though the first looked pretty damn good!

So yeah, that is about that, what has been going on and what might be coming up. With worse weather on the way, it may force me inside more, which leads to more computer time, and thus more time here. STAY TUNED :D

The Unknown Artists Project

The idea of the Unknown Artists Project is to feature unknown artists and their artworks. The quintessential goal to be achieved from this is to gain more attention and exposure for talented, yet underrated artists on deviantART.

Every day people recommend artists to the Unknown Artists Project. These selfless deviants, that are making the suggestions, generally have as much or less publicity than those they refer. That's the spirit of dA. People who help and support will receive help and support in return.

Often, most deviants need a starting point to make them feel like a part of the community, yet the efforts attempted to gain acceptibility and notoriety is primarily ineffectual. It's discouraging to every artist who spends a lot of time on his or her artwork to receive little or no attention. Art needs an audience; artists need an audience. Without it, the idea of continuing to enhance one's talent dwindles and submitting the ignored work seems frivolous.

Here, we intend to help diminish that "ignored" feeling and give fellow deviants a reason to share their gifts of artwork and creativity while acquiring deserved repute...
